Rewind 003

While recently rummaging through a couple of boxes full of old CDs collected over the years, I came across this 2004 DJ mix from Kansas Citian PK, containing 13 house music jams from the likes of JT Donaldson, Pat Nice, Miles Maeda and others.  While kicking off with Donaldson’s remix of Floetry’s early 2000’s r&b hit, “Say Yes”, this On The Avenue CD was a keeper in 2004 and still is in 2011.  That’s why we’ve decided to post this mix for your downloading greed seven years later (better late than never, right?).  PK says On The Avenue was done with all vinyl (gasp!) but that he plays CDs nowadays.  Next weekend, you can catch PK at The Union of Westport for kansascitytechno.com’s 2-year anniversary event on Friday, June 24th.  As always at The Union, there’s no cover and the party won’t stop until 3 a.m.    -Chris Mills
